bio

I am a professional musican living in Berlin, Germany. My heart belongs to the tenor saxophon but I also perform on many different woodwind instruments : soprano, alto, tenor, bariton, bass saxophone, clarinet, bass and contrabass clarinet, flute and piccolo. I am a member of numerous international bands and have participated in various theatre productions. I performed worldwide and my work can be heard on CDs, radio and television recordings. As a composer, I write the music for my own ensemble PanoramaPeng.

I studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim and at the Jazz-Institut Berlin (UdK + HfM Hanns Eisler) where I had classes with Claudio Puntin, Peter Weniger, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Greg Cohen and John Hollenbeck. For my final concert I composed a suite for violine, tuba and saxophone.

Some years later I founded my own group PanoramaPeng with wich I released my first Album "Mountain Lion Dance" in 2017.The album is comprised of eight original compositions that tell the fictional life story of a “beach elephant”, which due to an incorrigible sense of adventure, climbs a mountain summit and becomes friend with the mountain lions.

Classes for saxophone, clarinet and flute

Music is a great joy for me and has been the common thread in my life since childhood.

I see my job as a teacher in passing on this joy of making music and helping my students to find their own way to express themselves through their instrument. Everyone has different talents and needs, so I don't use a textbook curriculum for teaching, but rather put together my own individual teaching material and recordings for each student. I worked as an instrumental coach at the Rosa-Luxemburg High School for 8 years and was a lecturer for youth big bands, such as the Freiburg Youth Jazz Orchestra, the Arnd Gymnasium Berlin, and the Brandenburg Youth Jazz Orchestra.
